Happy New Year!

Happy new year's eve everyone! It's still officially 31 Dec as I write this blog post :)
2018 went by so quickly. Lots of changes on my end this year...from moving house (which was a big one and it took a lot of time and energy) to finding a new work schedule to fit in all of the caregiving duties and hospital visits. I'm still figuring things out honestly.

Some work in progress...

It's been a while since I made larger flower arrangements and I surprised myself that I could find the energy to make these few stalks of flowers during the quiet holidays.

Whilst making those peonies, I decided to offer them on a per stalk basis, so if you're interested to get some, please head HERE. It will be for a limited time only WHILE I still have this colored clay. All my colors are handmixed, so if that particular shade is gone, I will move onto the next color.

Here's wishing all a Happy 2019 and may you have a wonderful year ahead!

Mini Gingerbread House

The return of the mini gingerbread house...

Made this the other day. The cobblestone roof top is just something I couldn't resist making, thus I had to make another one. Just in time for Christmas this year.

I have another older design which I want to revisit. I'm slowly gaining some energy and strength after falling sick for most of November, hopefully I'll have some time to make another gingerbread house design this month.

I've a feeling I will STILL be making Christmas items even after Christmas is over... LOL
But I don't really have a deadline, so why not? :D

1/6 Scale Blythe Cake Shelf

I've finally completed this 1/6 Scale Blythe Cake Shelf, which is a customized item for my sweet customer. This has taken me the longest time to make. For the longest time, I felt like I wasn't making any progress with it. Not that I wasn't, it was just that I had very little time to put into it per sitting, and it did require painting works to be completed before I assemble some of the wood work. I figured long ago that it wasn't workable to paint all at once after I finished building it, so painting comes into the picture and and when needed before I proceed to the next step.

This shelf is 16cm wide and honestly it will be the largest I'll make. Any wider than that would be a major challenge. I think I'll make another 11cm wide shelf and list it in my shop in the near future.

So last night, I quickly made notes of measurements, so that there will be future measurement references.

Now, I'll have some time to make some Christmas items :))

Dollhouse Miniature Christmas Snowflake Mont Blanc Desserts

During the past few weeks, I've been slowly working on some dollhouse miniature christmas snowflake mont blanc desserts which I'm happy to show you.

These are taken in another new spot in my new home, and I think this is my favorite spot for photography. It's roomy enough that I can place a table, and a chair to sit to photograph my miniatures. PLUS the sunlight on a good day is fantastic.

I was looking for some blue and white christmas desserts for inspiration but I don't find that many, at least not even one for mont blancs. So I created this from my own imagination. A simple white chocolate snowflake on top of a blue mont blanc dessert. I'm really digging the blue and white theme for now.

There are a couple more blue and white ideas that I want to make, some of which are remakes. Though they are ideas of previous years, but they are STILL fun to make.

I'm wishing everyone a great week ahead!

First roses since I moved

Hi all, I managed to make some roses for the first time since I moved to my new place, which is a milestone for me. I'm planning to use them for a christmas piece...so let's hope it works out. I'm also trying out a new time routine, which involves me waking up another hour earlier, so I can have an extra hour to craft before I start my very busy day. I hope through this way, I'll have more time to do work.

I also want to announce that I have a SALE in my Etsy shop HERE for items that are marked with FREE SHIPPING. They are basically molds, so head over to OTHERS section and look for items that are marked with FREE SHIPPING.

Dollhouse Miniature Milk Vase with Peonies

Hello everyone! It's already August...in fact mid August! I swear time flies. It's been a year since my life had a major change with added responsibilities. My house is almost completed with the renovations and I'm slowly getting the new furnitures to be delivered into the place. I should be moving in one month's time.

I recently completed this milk vase with peonies. Got this new pink wallpaper a couple of weeks ago. I haven't used a lot of really pink backgrounds for a while. But this fits really well!

Close up of the pale pink peonies.

I'm also thinking of making some blue ones, just because I think they would look nice :D

This set of peonies is available in my shop here.

Have a good week everyone!

Dollhouse Miniature Plastic Set Meal Trays

Hello everyone, it's already August! I recently had the time to experiment with using heat press and made these dollhouse miniature plastic set meal trays.

This method of working is definitely the first for me, and I've never tried using plastic before, therefore there was some learning curve for me.

But I'm really pleased with the end result. :)

What I liked about these were they are thin, yet very sturdy. They won't break even when you drop it on the ground, which is truly a HUGE plus point. When it comes to tray, obviously keeping the edges thin make it look more professional.

That's why even though there are resin molds for trays, the end result for those are still a little "bulky". The only way to make thin ones are using plastic.

I'm going to try to make some other designs, so I hope it will be successful. Honestly I'm still very new with this technique, so there definitely is so much more room for improvement and new knowledge to absorb in this subject.

This trio set of dollhouse miniature set meal trays are ready for you to fill it up with food :) If you're interested, you can get a set HERE.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Have a great week everyone!

New Miniature Cupcake Base Mold For 1/12 and 1/6 Scale

Hi everyone! There is a new miniature cupcake base mold now available in my shop! This mold is suitable for making both 1/12 and 1/6 Scale.

What's different with this mold is that it comes with 2 different cupcake base designs. See photo below.

One with the cupcake liner and one that comes with a cup. :)

It's hard to find molds that allows you to make 1/6 scale. So for those who are building bakery shop for your Blythe dolls, you don't want to miss this!

For detailed measurements, please see the listing description HERE.

Speaking of Blythe doll scale or the 1/6 scale, I'm currently working on a cake display shelf for my lovely customer. I'll release this and make it available for all of you Blythe Doll owners sometime later once I'm done with this one. But it will be released as a MADE TO ORDER listing.

The design will be similar to the one shown in the above picture, on the RIGHT. The one above is in 1/12 scale. Of course I'll take more photos once I am done with the 1/6 scale bakery shelf. :)

Have a wonderful week all!

Dollhouse Miniature Vintage Kitchen Scale

Last week, I completed making this dollhouse miniature vintage kitchen scale in white color. This has always been one of my favourite kitchen appliances to make as they look realistic. Even though they do take some time, I do feel a great sense of achievement once I have it completed. They are surprisingly quite well popular too.

I plan to restock and make them in other colors too.

Making them shabby looking and vintage looking is just a preference of mine. :)

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! :)

New home and renovations (Part 1)

I've been busy with packing (slowly), donating away things that we don't use, or just throwing out things that are just not usable anymore. There's so much to do each day. I thought it would be fun to take some pictures along the way while the new home is undergoing renovations. Last week, hacking of tiles began. Then they had to lay cement, and water-proof the bathrooms before they can start any tiling.

The living room

As you can see the floor tiles have been hacked off and that piece of wall tile still exists because they are simply going to plaster directly over it. That saves hacking costs.

Another view of the living room leading to 2 bedrooms.

This was the master bathroom and everything's been hacked off.

This is the common toilet in the kitchen, but it's a bit too dark to show up.

One side of the kitchen wall. This side of the wall will be where we will put the washing machine and dryer.

Rather spacious kitchen, I must say! On the left side will be where the fridge, oven and kitchen cabinets are placed.

And today, I went in to take a look. The cement laying is ongoing. That's why it looks a bit dark.

And they started laying wall tiles for the common toilet!

That's all for now! Hopefully more progress pics in another week's time!

Great day for Photography and a Moving SALE!

Last Sunday, I had some time to take proper photos of my work. Immediately I thought of using my Dollhouse Miniature Buffet Kitchen Table to prop some simple stuff.

It helps greatly when the weather was cooperating! Everything is bright!

I think the dollhouse miniature teal cupcakes here are presented well on the table. Along with a bouquet of sweet flowers.

I'm pleased with the photographs. :)

Have I mentioned that besides my caregiving duties, I'm also tied up with packing, helping my mom to declutter, organize her stuff because...We are moving! Hopefully in 2 months time!

Currently, I've just engaged a renovation contractor to do up my place, so that will take a bit of time. It isn't a brand new place, so the wear and tear was very obvious, and renovations had to be done before we can move in.

You can imagine the amount of things I have to do...I'm trying my best to also allocate some time to pack and sort my stuff, and it's tough. To be honest, I haven't moved in more than 30 over years. I thought I will be sad, but I think I'm mostly too exhausted to feel that. Can anyone who is an "expert" in moving, share any tips? I don't know if "expert" is the right word even, but I guess anyone who has been moving quite a bit in their lifetime. I'd love to hear from you. Anything from dealing with the move emotionally, downsizing, decluttering, anything. My friend has given me some good pointers. He said, if I haven't used something in two years, most likely I won't be using it ever and I can toss/donate/give it away. That was a good one.

I also wanted to take this chance to organize a moving sale, so here it is!

Please use the discount code MOVING18 to enjoy 15% OFF your purchase when you buy miniature supplies from peiliminiatures.com

Items such as craft books, molds, clays are all considered as miniature supplies. Minimum purchase of USD$90 is required. Valid till 10 July 2018.

Miniature supplies can be found HERE. Craft books can be found HERE.

Happy Crafting everyone!

Dollhouse Miniature Teal Rose Cupcakes

I've made another set of these lovely dollhouse miniature teal rose cupcakes. What's different this time round is that I hand assembled the cake display for it.

It was made of a plate, and a bowl. I hand picked several parts, and put them together and turned it into a pedestal cake stand :)

So it's definitely a unique, one of a kind cake stand.

Cakes are glued to the cake stand, but the glass cover isn't.

On other news, I'm busy with moving. Well, renovating for now. Renovations hasn't started, but probably after a week's time :) I hope! So much to do, so much to pack! It does get a little overwhelming, as that's on top of my caregiving duties.

Do look out for a sale in my Etsy shop sometime mid June. My shop banner then will have all the details. The sale is only applicable for supplies, which means items such as molds, books, clays are all applicable for the sale. :) Don't miss it!

Dollhouse Miniature 1/12th Scale Kitchen Buffet Table

I've meant to remake this for the longest time, and finally managed to do so. Truly happy :)

This dollhouse miniature kitchen table measures 8cm tall, 8cm wide and 5.5cm deep.

I'm also slowly clearing some of my old craft books or magazines collection. Various craft books, inspiration books, cross stitch magazines. I'm listing them in the Clearance section in my Etsy shop.  Please feel free to take a look. I'll be listing them slowly over the next few days.

Also, I made some dollhouse miniature teal roses yesterday night.

I'm quite sure this is the first time I made teal roses. I did a search on the internet and most real roses are a little tad dark. I've made them a much lighter shade, which I prefer.

Now waiting for them to dry, and them attach them onto the cupcakes. I'm actually quite curious to see how teal roses look on a cupcake :)

Have a great week everyone!
